Here are a few frequently asked questions that will give you more insight on joining Muze!

  1. What does “Muze” stand for? Muze is a play off of the term “Muse,” which are traditionally recognized as inspirational beings or Gods/Goddesses of the Arts. “Muzes” will hold that same standard, however, with a glamorously edgy kind of flare! Our mission as Muzes is to inspire the world with our creativity and gift of performance.

  2. What is Performance Modeling? Performance Modeling is an emerging entertainment sector that combines modeling, theater and “Techstyle” - a new genre of dance created by Performance Models.

  3. When and where will the auditions take place? November 9th 2018 - 6:30PM -Anacostia Arts Center Black Box Theater - 1231 Good Hope Rd. SE, Washington, DC 20020 (Green Line- Anacostia Metro Station)

  4. What will be done auditions? - After applications and headshots are taken, tryouts will first be given a brief overview of the company and it’s leaders. Following that, we will begin with a short runway portion to warm up, then tryouts will learn a short choreographed routine. Once the routine is learned, tryouts will be broken up into groups and scored on both runway and choreography.

  5. Do I need to bring anything to audition? Fees? There is no fee to audition for Muze. Just don't forget your PERSONALITY, CHARISMA, and COMMITMENT to being fearless. That is all.

  6. Do I need experience? Experience in either dance, modeling and/or performance modeling is definitely a plus, but is not required. We will "Muze" you!

  7. Where will rehearsals be held? Bald Eagle Recreation Center in SW, DC - 2 days per week; 3 hrs per day. Weekly rehearsal schedule has yet to be decided. Rehearsal days will increase closer to show and project dates.

  8. When will rehearsals start? Rehearsal start date will be announced after auditions.

  9. Can guys wear heels? Yes. However, it is not a requirement.

  10. Do girls have to wear heels? No. However, most video projects and live productions will require dancing in heels.

  11. What types of projects will we do? Members will participate in an ongoing series of photoshoots, dance workshops, theater training, runway walk training, video productions, live showcases and community service projects.

  12. Do you do traditional model runway? Not quite. Performance Modeling runway showcases not only the clothing but primarily the model. Every participant is given the freedom to express themselves in however they see fit.

  13. Are there any fees associated with being a member? There is a $50.00 monthly membership fee to be an active member. There will also be an initial one-time starter fee after being accepted into the company that will include first months membership fee, 2 MUZE t-shirts, portfolio booklet and duffle bag. The cost of this has yet to be decided.

  14. Are there any safety risks? There is no direct safety hazards associated with Performance Modeling, besides dancing in heels. However, with any style of dance there is always potential for injury and mishaps. All participants will be required to sign a waiver that does not hold Muze accountable for any injuries.

  15. Are you philanthropic? - Muze Entertainment is on it’s way to becoming a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization, and has plans on creating a body of free resources and programs that cater to underserved DC Youth and artistic entrepreneurs.
